Reverse Stabilization

https://library.creativecow.net/articles/kahlenberg_roland/reverse_stabilization.php

The motivation for this tutorial was to provide insights into the mechanics of Reverse Stabilization. This was a hot topic then but other tutorials that covered the subject did not provide sufficient details on the mechanics. Hence, while viewers of these tutorials could create their own cool effects, most were not knowledgeable of the mechanics of the effect and hence were doing a lot of unnecessary or additional work and they were also failing to see other, viable applications and options open to them.

Creating a 2 or 3 Color Special/Visual Effect

This was an interesting and challenging tutorial. Particle Playground was the only particle generator for AE, for a long while - and it was one of the most difficult effects to master. And I made things worse by choosing a very challenging task - but that's the way I like to roll. ;-)

Creating and LED Audio Meter with Expressions

Creating Footage/Elements Entirely in AE

This was probably the first Expressions tutorial on how to create an LED Audio Meter. This was quite interesting to do at that time. What most folks would use prior to the introduction of Expressions i AE, was to delve into an old (now obsolete) feature in AE known as Motion Math. While Motion Math could certainly create a similar effect, the procedure meant that the result was baked into the Timeline. With Expressions, the results could be repeated with different audio files and then, only minor tweaks were required to the final destination.

Adding Z-depth (Extruding Layers in AE)

This was the first tutorial on using Shatter to extrude a layer. A fair bit of Expressions was used to ensure Shatter's built-in light followed the 3D rotation of the layer. This was an extremely popular tutorial back then. There have been other tutorials on the same topic but this was the first! :-)

Wiggle Expression

This was my first tutorial on writing Expressions. It was incredibly popular back then as it was one of the first tutorials on Expressions - written by a non-coder and targeted for similarly inclined AE users.
